Carlton W. Blair, III

Managing Director

Carlton Blair III (Tres) is Managing Partner and Senior VP at United Cargo Management (UCM). Tres brings 30 years of experience in the shipping and logistics world including his time as a vessel boarding agent, Regional Manager of equipment control with Lykes Lines, and Regional Sales Manager of seven states with Lykes Lines. Tres then became managing partner at UCM where he opened up operations in the Southeast US and in the Gulf. Tres opened the UCM office in Charleston where his current staff of 20 specialize in both imports and exports.

UCM is an independent NVOCC and full-service global brokerage & logistics company founded in 1987. UCM has offices in Charleston, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Shanghai, and Xiamen, China. With partners in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand and their affiliation with the MarcoPolo Line Group and WCA, their worldwide offices are positioned to provide the very best solutions and rates available.

In 2020 Tres founded CBR Holdings, a branch of UCM which is FDA registered and specializes in sourcing and securing PPE. CBR Holdings provides brokerage and logistics services that include direct factory sourcing, inspections at factory to ensure FDA standards are met, trucking to port, customs clearance, ocean/air freight, GPS tracking of goods, warehousing, and 3PL packing services, and last mile delivery.

Bob Gierszal

Robert A. Gierszal Jr.

Vice President Sales

Bob Gierszal has been involved in shipping and logistics for over 35 years. He is a second-generation logistics professional. In March 2015, he joined United Cargo Management in Charleston, SC. responsible for all sales and commercial activities.

Gierszal began his career working for Codan Corporation/Columbus Shipping with the responsibilities of terminal operations and vessel husbandry in Erie, Pa. He then joined Lykes Brothers Steamship Line and for the next 12 years served in Sales, Operations and Management positions around the U.S. and at the company’s Headquarters in New Orleans, La.

He then joined Expeditors in 1995 as part of the Global Sales Team and shortly thereafter as District Manager of the Cleveland, OH office. In 2009, he moved to South Carolina as District Sales Manager for the Charleston and Savannah offices. Today, Gierszal works out of the UCM Charleston office and travels globally to support UCM customers and the team internally.

Gierszal graduated cum laude from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He and his with Kathy are the proud parents of four wonderful children. They live in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Vice President Operations

Hank is an experienced leader with 35 years in Operations, Logistics, and Business Relationship Management.  Hank leads UCM’s business process improvement for logistics , distribution & transportation operations.  His decades of experience in the field has been a huge asset to UCM’s success. Hank has increased team performance and productivity through operating cost reduction & avoidance. He is very successful at building synergies between organizations, departments, and across functional teams.

UCM’s team is your go-to partner for the end-to-end sourcing, importing, and selling of PPE. Our areas of expertise include supply chain management, logistics, import/export, U.S. Customs clearance, and we have more than 150 years of combined experience. We work with and for you!
